EAR WAVE EVENT wants your music!

None of the music on this website exists. But don't you wish it did? The reviews that make up this preview of EAR WAVE EVENT were created by a neural network fed and trained on contemporary music press. Inverting the normal flow of music criticism, we invite artists to use these reviews prescriptively - to create realizations of musics 'imagined' by a prosthetic mind.

Please send submissions by January 22nd, 2020.

After February 3rd, 2020, EAR WAVE EVENT Issue 5, a complete 'music magazine,' will be released with YOUR audio.

Barefoot
Sexless Lonely City

Rats, bass and drums propels this New York band to a place they refer to as their "space nest" – a nebulous, unfurling space where they "think, breathe and move in a certain way that we think is a bit more utopia than we're currently exploring". I know this because the title track is called “space in my mouth”. The same could be said of “Be-Bop-A-Ling”, “Cranberry Sugar”, “Dry Ice”, “Dry Ice”, “Frozen Tongues” and “Flagstone”. All told, the record is an epic about moving from one’s comfort zone to the next, about the fatigue of the familiar, the pain of not knowing who you are, the joy of being alone, about the struggle to maintain your pre-existing identity as both human and alien and the entire time.
