EAR WAVE EVENT wants your music!

None of the music on this website exists. But don't you wish it did? The reviews that make up this preview of EAR WAVE EVENT were created by a neural network fed and trained on contemporary music press. Inverting the normal flow of music criticism, we invite artists to use these reviews prescriptively - to create realizations of musics 'imagined' by a prosthetic mind.

Please send submissions by January 22nd, 2020.

After February 3rd, 2020, EAR WAVE EVENT Issue 5, a complete 'music magazine,' will be released with YOUR audio.

Simply hit the submit button on any given review to add your music.

Tony Hutchings
Glorified Earth

Tony Hutchings’s music is a collection of tiny, resonant sounds and a long slow drone, which he defines as “a moving tap of a hand over a surface”. It’s as though we’ve been watching a video of an alien hovering over a stage. Hutchings’s ability to combine sound and form is so balanced and expressive it sounds like the work of a violinist. His work, which can be described as ambient, atmospheric, or even electronic, is full of subtle details but is clearly not your average electronic project. The sounds here are, however, well realised and the drone is one of Hutchings’s most distinctive features.
