EAR WAVE EVENT wants your music!

None of the music on this website exists. But don't you wish it did? The reviews that make up this preview of EAR WAVE EVENT were created by a neural network fed and trained on contemporary music press. Inverting the normal flow of music criticism, we invite artists to use these reviews prescriptively - to create realizations of musics 'imagined' by a prosthetic mind.

Please send submissions by January 22nd, 2020.

After February 3rd, 2020, EAR WAVE EVENT Issue 5, a complete 'music magazine,' will be released with YOUR audio.

Parades

A new alignment takes shape between the best of African and Chinese experimentalism with this long-awaited release from the Afro-Asian Airports Consortium. The combination of the two artists – New York based Chinese electronic musician Amy Chu and New York based Kenyan drummer Ezekiala Doumbia – is deeply moving. The result is a thrilling journey that feels both stunningly direct and hugely open. Although the album avoids the traditional pedantic approach of categorising, it can be easy to lose track of what the underlying theme is or how it relates to the other. These ten tracks are compelling enough to undermine any expectations and to make you wonder whether the music is intended as a discursive or musical exercise.
