EAR WAVE EVENT wants your music!

None of the music on this website exists. But don't you wish it did? The reviews that make up this preview of EAR WAVE EVENT were created by a neural network fed and trained on contemporary music press. Inverting the normal flow of music criticism, we invite artists to use these reviews prescriptively - to create realizations of musics 'imagined' by a prosthetic mind.

Please send submissions by January 22nd, 2020.

After February 3rd, 2020, EAR WAVE EVENT Issue 5, a complete 'music magazine,' will be released with YOUR audio.

Bod
The Recurrence Of Infections

Los Angeles based producer Bod makes tracks that combine the micro, the macro and the vintage in a way that's more infectious than you might think. Her latest 12" finds her merging with Milan Kundera, a fellow L.A. based producer whose DNA, alongside that of his friend and collaborator MJ, makes up the bulk of his catalogue. The Recurrence Of Infections is not a record in the normal sense, but it does share the sufferers' pace of desolation. "Bodi Pt 2" sees the Enter Shikari collaborator painting a wall of breakbeat guitar over a skeletal beat. As the record progresses, the two collaborators shift their weight from the heaviness of the riff, to the delicate organic leanings of the forefinger and thumb. "Bodi Pt 5" sees Bod laying down another barrage of breakbeats, this time with the aid of a neighboring Mac. The music retains its astonishingly bare nature – bones being kept at a manageable distance from the body as much as possible.
