EAR WAVE EVENT wants your music!

None of the music on this website exists. But don't you wish it did? The reviews that make up this preview of EAR WAVE EVENT were created by a neural network fed and trained on contemporary music press. Inverting the normal flow of music criticism, we invite artists to use these reviews prescriptively - to create realizations of musics 'imagined' by a prosthetic mind.

Please send submissions by January 22nd, 2020.

After February 3rd, 2020, EAR WAVE EVENT Issue 5, a complete 'music magazine,' will be released with YOUR audio.

Takashi Matsunaga
Expectations Of A Sound

A solo release, "Expectations Of A Sound" is a non-linear sequence of electronic sound work that starts with the early electronics work of Matsunaga, and proceeds through various iterations. The first piece here, a simple vibrating track, opens with a trio of percussion figures, each of which gradually moves in an electronic drift before eventually crashing into one another. The structure is rather simple, with the percussion figures gathering in a pattern, then suddenly disappearing in all directions as the percussionists try to catch up. The other two pieces are more involved, with the drummers working in a more rhythmic fashion, and the percussionists working harder than before to get their points across. The result is a rather thrilling listen.
