The latest release from Dakota’s Chase Stratton aka Dakota Mermaid and Deep Sea Diver is a solid mix of trap sounds, modern techno and early cut-up drum and bass. The title track stands out with its choppy, deep bass, while the second track’s chirpy tune “Babylon” is a fresh take on the form. Dubwise, the EP’s two sides are a strong pair with the latter side featuring a strong bass line with a dash of dub. “Stitch” is a digirl through a slow pulse groove. The EP’s second side is a more laid back affair with a strung out, electronic groove.
