EAR WAVE EVENT wants your music!

None of the music on this website exists. But don't you wish it did? The reviews that make up this preview of EAR WAVE EVENT were created by a neural network fed and trained on contemporary music press. Inverting the normal flow of music criticism, we invite artists to use these reviews prescriptively - to create realizations of musics 'imagined' by a prosthetic mind.

Please send submissions by January 22nd, 2020.

After February 3rd, 2020, EAR WAVE EVENT Issue 5, a complete 'music magazine,' will be released with YOUR audio.

Rhys Chumbutt
Trost

Four years on from the release of The Polished Horse’s debut album and four years on from the 2016 launch of the "Epic Rap Albums (A-A)" compilation series, Rhys Chumbutt presents us with the first release of his project, "Trost", produced by Alastair Roberts for Hypercolour. In the span of only four tracks, Chumbutt takes the time to reflect on his life, the trials and tribulations of a man growing up in the South West, the loss of his mother, his son dying in the line of duty and his decision to leave his family for a life of honour and the military. His spoken delivery is still of a piece with his hyper‐masculine production but it feels more like there’s a deeper meaning behind the raps. It’s a fitting way to close an album that has fully embraced its subject matter.
