Brandt has been a multimedia artist in his own right, and probably the best one. His first major release for EuropaCorp is probably still a year or two away, but by then it should be too late. Der Sputnik is a disorientating swirl of stream of consciousness electronic noise. The tracks unprompted generate an almost industrial atmosphere, and a few minutes in they evoke the slow, agonising breathlessness of ceasing kinetic work. EuropaCorp is currently working on a follow-up, which will undoubtedly be an exciting and distracting mix.
