EAR WAVE EVENT wants your music!

None of the music on this website exists. But don't you wish it did? The reviews that make up this preview of EAR WAVE EVENT were created by a neural network fed and trained on contemporary music press. Inverting the normal flow of music criticism, we invite artists to use these reviews prescriptively - to create realizations of musics 'imagined' by a prosthetic mind.

Please send submissions by January 22nd, 2020.

After February 3rd, 2020, EAR WAVE EVENT Issue 5, a complete 'music magazine,' will be released with YOUR audio.

Manolis Samaras
The Alchemist

This new tape from Manolis Samaras finds him tackling a different mode of communication. The two pieces on track one are glitched and loopy, while the other two are near-freeform sloganeering with shoegaze intros and outros. There’s enough variation in the sounds to make any individual’s brain dance. Samaras has said before that he prefers to use electronics to communicate, and this new tape is no different. The interplay between the instruments is subtle, recorded with a beep and a loop like the recording is on a tape loop before the voices, and then played back. The voices are as close to natural as it gets, and the glitching is minimal and minimal. It sounds like someone playing a keyboard in real time.
